Mattias Spee
A LA FRANÇAISE
‘An Edgar Allan Poe-esque storyteller, with a great amount of sensitivity to emotional undercurrents,’ is what NRC wrote about pianist and composer Mattias Spee. He enjoys finding inspiration in stories, and in his Wonderfeel programme this will show for example in Mel Bonis’ Desdemona, one of five portraits of mythical women. And there is more from France: a suite by Baroque master Louis Couperin, preludes by Debussy and the Sonatine by Hans Henkemans, one of the most important mid-20th Century composers of The Netherlands. And of course Mattias’ own music will be heard, as well!
