Schumann Quartet
BRAHMS’ STRING SEXTET
Put together three musical brothers who have been playing together since early childhood, and what do you get? Add violist Veit Hertenstein to the Schumanns and you get one of the most exciting, communicative and broad-minded string quartets of today. Add another two top-tier players to that, and we’re ready for Brahms’ passionate String sextet, Op. 18. It’s the second movement Andante, ma moderato which became especially famous, even appearing in an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
